Auction Buyers Collection Information & Our Locations

Post-auction shipping: Please note that we do not have an in-house shipping department. We can provide you with a list of national and international shippers from whom you can request a shipping quote. The shippers on the list have been used by our clients. We are not able to assist with the facilitation of shipping quotes nor are we able to make recommendations with respect to shippers. 


All auction purchases should be collected within 7 days of the auction from the auction venue. Our auctions take place at Unit 1, Emsptead Works, Henley Enterprise Park, Greys Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 1UF and also at The Courtyard, Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 6HF. Please consult the sale information for the auction in question as showing on our site for confirmation of the relevant auction venue.   


Collection of lots is strictly by appointment from the auction venue and collection slots are available between 10am – 4pm. A collection slot must be booked in advance, please contact us to book your time, tel: 44 (0)207 281 2790 or email: info@thepedestal.com


Delivery services: 


- For small items, but NOT ceramics and glass, we can offer postage via Royal Mail Special Delivery. Costs start from £40 plus VAT. Please contact us for a quote for very small items, including jewellery. 


- For small objects, including ceramics, glass and paintings, we suggest contacting Pack & Send Reading | Email: reading@packsend.co.uk / tel: 44 (0)118 958 4498.  


Please note the following:


-       We are not able to provide packing materials and request that the purchaser or their designated carrier brings materials to pack purchased lots for onward transportation


-       We do not accept cash as a method of payment


-       Goods not collected within 7 days may be subject to an administration charge of £10 and in addition storage charged at: £3 per day for pictures and small items | £6 per day for furniture, larger pictures and objects

We reserve the right to send lots that are not collected in a timely manner to external storage, and any resulting cost will be transferable to the purchaser.

Loss and Damage: Full value protection cover for the value of the hammer price with be charged at 0.6% but will not exceed the total value of all other transfer and storage charges.


Value Added Tax: VAT will be applied at the current rate on any charges levied.


Any lots not collected within 90 days after the auction may be sold by us at our discretion, with the proceeds applied to cover all Unpaid Sums, including storage and handling charges. In this event, any surplus will be paid over to you, and we will claim any shortfall from you as an Unpaid Sum.

-       For pre-auction viewings and viewing on the day of the auction itself, please consult the dates and times as set out in the Viewing Information section for each auction published in our Past & Present Auctions pages on our site    


-        Otherwise, please note that we are not based at Unit 1, Empstead Works or at The Courtyard, Stonor Park every day so ALL other visits to these locations outside the pre- and post-auction period must be booked in advance.
